    Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of the Burke Station Destroyers, a swim team nestled in the heart of Burke, VA. For 50 years, BKS has been a proud member of the Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL), the largest summer swim league in the nation with 102 teams spread across 17 divisions.

Registration for the summer 2026 NVSL season is now open, so if you’re interested in being a part of a summer of family fun, laughter, and community, we’d love to have you join us!

After winning our third NVSL Sportsmanship Award in four years in 2025, we will again be competing in Division 13 in 2026. We're looking forward to another season full of swimming, laughter, and yes…sportsmanship!

The pictures above show that, while we practice and swim hard, we're all about having fun! We’re a team in which everyone knows our swimmers’ names…not just their heat and their lane. Our coaches give individual attention to ALL of our swimmers and we welcome everyone as a member of the tight-knit BKS family from their very first day on the team!

Burke Station Swim Club is an “open pool,” meaning that anyone can join (i.e., contrary to popular belief, you do not need to live in the Burke Station Square neighborhood to join the pool), so if you're considering joining the team or would like a little more information about us, please feel free to reach out to our Team Reps at [email protected]. We actively monitor that email and are always happy to discuss the team and the league with whomever is interested!

For any families with kids who aren't quite sure if summer swim is for them, we gladly offer a two-week, no obligation "trial period" beginning with our first practice on May 26. We want to give all new swimmers a chance to decide if summer swim team is right for them, so we hope that anyone on the fence about joining our team will give us a shot!

We keep our families and followers updated on our Instagram and Facebook pages, so please like and follow us on either of those two accounts to stay up to date on the latest!
