NVSL Clinic Details
These NVSL training sessions are free to you and extremely important to our team. We currently have one Referee for this season, so if you're eligible please consider getting certified to serve as a Referee (or simply to work towards your certification) since we cannot host meets without one.
We need as many parents as possible to be certified as a Stroke & Turn Judge, Starter, and Referee not only so that we can host meets, but also so we can spread the responsibilities among as many of our families as possible!
***If you are USA Swimming certified as a Stroke and Turn Judge or Starter, please let us know as there is reciprocity on those certifications with NVSL. Unfortunately, USA Swimming Referee certifications are not valid with NVSL.

WITHOUT OFFICIALS, THERE IS NO MEET
Team Requirements
Each home team must provide four certified officials (Referee, Starter and two Stroke & Turn Judges) per meet - without them a meet cannot take place. Away teams provide two Stroke & Turn Judges.
New / First Time Officials
If you are new to the swim team, Stroke & Turn is a great place to start as you learn the components of a legal stroke. This will enable you to help your swimmer improve their strokes.
You can thinking of serving as an NVSL official as your "FASTPass" to the pool deck for meet viewing. Of course, it helps you knock out your family volunteer requirements!
Please consider getting certified. If you're hesitant to act alone as an official, we can arrange for you to be a "shadow official" for a couple meets–but you must first get certified. Having some depth to our Officials' pool also opens up the possibility of split-shifts at swim meets - a very nice option on especially hot days.

ALL CLINICS START ON TIME, RAIN OR SHINE. NO COST FOR THE CLINICS AND NO REGISTRATION FOR THE IN-PERSON CLINICS IS NECESSARY.
IF YOU ARRIVE MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE FOR A CERTIFICATION CLINIC OR DEPART BEFORE ITS CONCLUSION, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR ATTENDING.
