That nasty weather on Monday night resulted in a first for many of us…a cancelled meet! We were really bummed out about our not being able to get the meet in since the kids have worked so hard and we really wanted to keep seeing those time drops. We also feel bad for Camelot since they were ready to host us and waited until it became obvious that there was just no getting the meet in. The good thing is that none of our families was directly affected by the serious damage caused by the storms, but we certainly feel for those who are struggling with the aftermath today.

Friday Breakfast and Tie Dye Pep Rally!

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help with this Friday’s breakfast. There are still a few spots open, so if you’d like to chip in, head to the BKS Breakfast SignUp Genius and sign up!

This Friday’s pep rally is our Tie Dye day! We’ll start at 6:00 pm on the side of the BSSC community building, so hit the pool in the afternoon and then jump out and join the team for the tie-dye fun!

We’ve got you covered with all the supplies…dye, rubber bands, gloves, and gallon-sized Ziploc bags. All you need to do is bring whatever you’d like to dye, whether it’s a t-shirt, a hat, a headband, etc. If you’re planning on dyeing something a bit larger than a gallon bag can handle, be sure to bring an appropriate-sized bag to take your kid's masterpiece home. This is such a fun event for the whole BKS family, and we want to invite our Junior Destroyers to come out and join the big team for some colorful fun!

A Meet at Somerset-Olde Creek: Saturday, June 27

We’ll be swimming in our second A Meet of the season this Saturday at Somerset-Olde Creek (9705 Laurel Street, Fairfax, VA 22032). The meet will start at 9:00 am, with warmups starting at 8:20 am.

The coaches will be setting the lineup tomorrow afternoon. Please declare your swimmers’ availability as soon as possible this (Wednesday) morning so the coaches have all the info they need to set the lineup without needing to reach out to get swimmers’ availability.

We’ll follow up later in the week with more details on the meet; however, we want to make sure that we have a good count of who will be attending our post-meet lunch at Milano’s (6230-G Rolling Road, Springfield, VA 22152). Please let us know if your family will attend via the July 27 team lunch Jotform by noon on Thursday so we can give Milano’s a heads up on the number of attendees.
