Relay Carnival Debrief, Tie Dye Pep Rally, and Our First Home A Meet of the Season!
Wow...Relay Carnival never fails to disappoint, and last night was no exception! We had amazing swims up, down, and across all age groups (including lots of time drops) and ended up winning the meet with a total of 188 points! We’ve attached the final results to this email.
The final score was:
Burke Station:
188
Lake Braddock:
156
Sully Station II:
144
Hollin Hills: 122
Fox Mill Estates:
120
Annandale: 102
Special congratulations go out to our 11-12 Boys relay team who set two team records last night. In the 100M Medley Relay, they bested their own record set last weekend by going 1:03.81. The second was in the 100M Free Relay, in which they beat the record from 2007, going 56.38, beating the old record by more than 6 seconds. Congrats to Franklin, William, Lawrence, and Taran!
Friday Tie Dye Pep Rally - 6:00 pm at BSSC
Tomorrow is our Tie Dye Pep Rally at the swim club! The team will be supplying all dye supplies – swimmers need to bring whatever piece of clothing they’d like to dye! Along with tie dye, we will be chalking the walk to welcome Sully Station II to our pool for our A Meet on Saturday.
We will be doing this outside the pool gates in the grass to the side of the community building.
Meet set up will be taking place at around 7:45 pm (depending on the number of Members at the Swim Club). 8&U families will be responsible for set up this week.
A Meet Saturday, June 29 at Home v. Sully Station II
We’re hosting Sully Station II at BSSC this Saturday at 9:00 am. Meet details are below and the meet sheet is attached to this email.
Where: Home at Burke Station Swim Club. The theme this weekend is “Under the Big Top,” so step right up and enjoy the magic, wonder, and excitement at the pool! (Think clowns, circus performers, animals and more).
When: Swimmers should be in the team area at 7:45 am and ready for warmups, which will begin at 8:00 am. Swimmers should come dressed in their suits and equipped with everything they’ll need for the meet (cap, goggles, towel, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray)!
Weather: Weather looks to be favorable for Saturday morning, but, as always, if there are any weather delays (thunder or hard rain), we will communicate those via the SwimTopia app.
Volunteers: Concessions volunteers check in with Alexis. Timers should check in with our head timer, Jed Perry. Other on-deck officials check in with Deirdre. Just a reminder, all on-deck volunteers should follow the NVSL dress code and wear white tops and blue bottoms.
WE NEED ONE MORE TIMER!!
Meet breakdown will be handled by the 15-18 families.
If you are scheduled to swim and cannot attend for any reason, please text Matt (703-403-7050) or Mike (720-235-6850) so that we can scratch your swimmer.
