Happy Sunday, BKS families…and Happy Father’s Day to all our BKS dads!

What a fantastic way to start our A Meet season yesterday! We’re already seeing some excellent swims with time drops across all age groups. Congrats to Nomi O'Connell on lowering her own team record in the 11-12 Girls 50m Breaststroke (39.82)! We also wanted to recognize three of our younger swimmers who made their A Meet debuts and contributed to our win yesterday – great job Ethan Kim, Liv Hojnicki, and Benson Spainhour!

Annandale were once again phenomenal hosts and had great spirit despite their small team size! We’ve attached the final meet results (final score of 302-110) to this email.

B Meet Monday, June 17, at Lake Braddock

We are at Lake Braddock tomorrow night at 6:00 pm. This is another meet against a lot of swimmers that we know well from school and other activities, so it’s always a great time!

*** Please note that there are two pools in the neighborhood. All meets at Lake Braddock are at the pool at 9528 Ashbourn Drive.

Our warmups will begin at 5:20. Please arrive by 5:00 so that your swimmers are ready to go.

Event Sign-up: Please declare swimmers by Monday, June 17 at 8:00 am. Swimmers can sign up for 2 events AND the IM. As a reminder, swimmers cannot swim in an event in which they placed first, second, or third in at the A Meet yesterday (see attached meet results if you are unsure of your places). Instructions on How to Sign-Up.

The IM is scheduled to take place in the middle of the meet.

Weather Details: The weather is looking just about perfect; however, in case of a surprise storm, we will communicate weather delays via the SwimTopia app.

Volunteers: We still need two more timers. Please sign up on the website.

Picture Day Wednesday, June 19 at 8:00 am

Swimmers should arrive in their team suit (or an appropriate suit if they do not have a team suit) with hair done. We will take a team photo first and then do individual/family photos next. Please arrive on time so that we can get the photos done in a timely manner. We will follow with details on ordering pictures.

There is no practice on Wednesday.

A Meet Declaration Reminder

Please be sure to declare your swimmers’ availability for next Saturday’s A Meet at Hollin Hills by Wednesday morning at 8am. The coaches will be meeting on Wednesday afternoon and they need declarations so they can confidently set the lineup at that time.
