BSST 2023 Upcoming Events
Hello Destroyer Family-
With the fast and furious Summer 2023 Swim Season approaching, please keep a look out for information/reminder emails! We have nearly 60 swimmers already registered for the season, with several new families! Please spread the word about our pool and team to your friends and neighbors!
Suit Try On at Metro Swim Shop (11215 Rt. 29, Fairfax, VA 22030)
Our team suits for the summer will be a solid royal blue Jolyn/Finis with our team logo! You can stop by Metro Swim Shop at any time to try on suits OR attend our team fitting event THIS Saturday, May 6th from 5-7pm at Metro Swim Shop. Metro is also supplying our team caps this year- with the option of adding your LAST NAME! This team fitting event is after hours so only our team will be present...no fighting others for fitting rooms! This is also a great time to stock up on any additional equipment you might need (caps, EXTRA goggles, fins, etc.).
Parent Meeting SATURDAY, MAY 20th @5:00 pm at Burke Station Swim Club
We will have our annual parent (and swimmer) meeting on 5/20 to discuss plans for the team this summer. We will be collecting participation payment as well as shirt orders (more to come on this). Swimmers are encouraged to attend, as coaches will be leading a team building exercise, and it's a great way for all our new swimmers to meet their teammates!
Volunteers
I'm sure you all know...we are in DESPERATE need for officials this summer. Please consider attending one of the NVSL Offical's training sessions for Stroke & Turn Judge or Starter. If you are already certified in these two roles, please also consider completing the Referee training. You can find a detailed list of the officials training schedule here.
We have done some restructuring of the volunteer commitment and plan to discuss this in detail at the parent meeting!
Pep Rallies and Meet Themes
We are in the works to finalize our pep rally schedule! If you have any suggestions for a pep rally location and/or themes for the meets, please send them our way! We want these events to be fun for swimmers and their families and we value your input!!
