Hi All- 

First, thank you to all of the parents who were certified as either Stroke & Turn, Starter, or Referee. We really appreciate you giving up part of your weekend to help out the team! There are still a number of dates remaining for new certifications, so please attend and get certified if you’re interested and able to do so! You can find all the info on our the website’s NVSL Officials Clinics page. 

The season is revving up and we have a handful of important things to address! 

TIME TRIALS 

This Saturday, June 11th is Time Trials. Our plan is to run this like a normal meet with swimmers grouped by age. Warm-ups are at 8am and the meet will start at 8:30am. We still need six timers and some assistants who want to learn clerk of course. The weather is looking questionable- we will swim if it's raining but not if it's thundering and lightning. We will not reschedule time trials. If we get rained out, we will use times from the B Meet on Monday to assist with A meet line up. The weather is also looking a bit chilly- please have your swimmers bring extra towels and/or sweats to keep them warm between races.  

B Meet 6/13 HOME vs. Parliament 

We are less than one week away from our first B Meet. Please remember, everyone must declare and choose two races (plus IM if interested) by the end of practice Monday, June 13th. To do this, you will click on the Meet Entry Button under the event. If you are unsure of what your swimmer should swim, please feel free to ask one of the coaches! They will be happy to offer suggestions! We also have a handful of volunteer positions that still need to be filled. 

Picture Day 6/14 @ 8am 

Next Tuesday is picture day! Everyone should arrive at 8am in their team suit (or suit they plan on using for meets) ready for photos. We will not be having practice that day as photos will take the majority of the practice time. You can complete the attached picture form and bring payment with you the morning of. 

A Meet 6/18 vs. Broyhill Crest @ 8am 

Our first A meet is a week from Saturday! When you get a chance, please go in and declare (Green Meet Entry Button) if your swimmer is available for this meet. Just a reminder…you do not choose events for swimmers at A meets. Our coaches will be creating the lineup on Tuesday, June 14th so we must have declarations complete by then. We will notify swimmers that Wednesday or Thursday if they are swimming in this meet. We also still have a handful of volunteer slots open for this meet, so please consider signing up for those so we can put on a great first A Meet of the season!
